Alain De Plaen

Alain De Plaen is Vice-President of Downstream Advisors Inc, a consultancy firm specialized in assisting clients in the Downstream Energy industry for transaction due diligence, business and asset valuations, project development and management, model building, price forecasts, market/industry analysis, crude oil valuations, design and optimization, and strategic planning.

Alain holds a Master in Chemical Engineering from the University of Louvain in Belgium as well as an Executive Master in Finance from the ICHEC Brussels Management School.  Alain joined Total Olefins Antwerp in 1995 and then ExxonMobil in 1996, where he worked in various engineering and planning functions in Belgium and the United Kingdom.  Supporting clients as a consultant since 2007, Alain has been involved in many refining and renewables project developments, optimizations and acquisitions throughout Europe, Africa, North and South America.
