José Marcos

With 35+ years of experience in FCC catalyst production, José Marcos is a Chemical Engineer holding a Ph.D., Master’s, and Executive MBA from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).

As a Senior Technical Advisor with Fábrica Carioca de Catalisadores (FCCSA), he spearheads research and development (R&D) activities on catalysts for the circular economy, namely the chemical recycling of plastics and rubber and the upgrading of pyrolysis bio-oil into biofuels and renewable feedstock for the chemical industry.

His duties include providing technical assistance for catalyst introduction, troubleshooting, and advanced chemical recycling process improvement. An inventor with several patents, he actively contributes to the catalyst community by authoring technical papers and delivering training and lectures at conferences for clients and the academia.
